Welcome to Things I Learned Yesterday Podcast!

I’m so excited to welcome you to Things I Learned Yesterday.

I’ve always loved talking.  l’m an extrovert and I can talk to anybody, so growing up I got in trouble for talking, a lot. Now that I’m adult, I like to talk AND listen. Some of my favorite conversations are the deep, soulful ones I have with my girlfriends and they’re almost always over wine. You know what I’m talking about, right? We get together, pour the wine and just start talking. We start with the weather, maybe how our weeks or days are going and then we get to the good stuff. The stuff in our hearts. We talk about things that change our perspective and make us feel better. We feel lighter and sometimes a little more free. These are the conversations I love and this where the podcast was born… in the space where friendship and support show up for the human spirit.

I live in Texas (a few miles outside of Austin), with my husband, two kids, dog and cat. Like many of you I wear lots of hats… I’m a wife, a mom, an artist… I’m always busy and everyone always needs something from me. I’m a creative business owner with an entrepreneurial mindset and I LOVE people. I’ve always loved people. I used to obsess over why we do the things we do and what makes us tick. I wonder why people hurt each other and how to make it stop. I read all the books and listened to the podcasts. I’ve invested a lot time and money in therapy sessions and transformational workshops to help me create the life I want. Not because I’m dumb and can’t figure it out, but because I’m smart and I want better. Like so many of us, I’ve experienced pain, trauma, and heartbreak, but I’ve also experienced peace, joy and whole lot of life. Life isn’t easy, but grit, determination and a fiery spirit are pretty good tools to help you win at life.

When I started thinking about this podcast, I asked myself what I can bring to you in a 30min to 1hour window, twice a month that will help you. What can we do together? Three things came to mind: create value, find inspiration and HAVE FUN. I want this to be a place where we laugh on your way to the grocery store, find hope on your morning commute, and where you leave our time together feeling empowered to live better and do better. A place where you show up and walk away with real takeaways that you can apply to your life right away. From something as simple as a new recipe hack that makes your meal taste better or take less time to cook or something deeper like exploring new ways of seeing things in your relationships or within yourself.

I want this to be a place for real and authentic conversations about all the things we care about… and some things we care about, but are too afraid to talk about. I have inspiring interviews planned, fun stories to tell and I just renewed my wine club subscription, soooo it’s about to get real, y’all.

So. Without further a-do… welcome to Things I Learned Yesterday Podcast!
