EP13 Feel and Function Your Best at Home with Amy Hadley

I love interior design. I love all the textures, patterns and colors that come with styling and designing a home. I used to cut pictures out of magazines of my favorite rooms… Architectural Digest, Domino, House Beautiful, Veranda, Dwell… I had them all. I had a folder I put them all in and at one point I even made a journal with all the rooms and textiles that inspired me. Thankfully, now, we have Pinterest for that. Our home is important—it’s where we rest, play, raise our families, share meals together, dream, work… our home is our safe place and whether we recognize it or not, it matters. Did you know there’s a whole psychology behind the design of our homes? There’s a whole thing around color, too. You don’t have to have a luxury resort with high-end finishes to feel safe, inspired or your best. The home you’re in right now matters and how and where you put things makes a difference in your mood, attitude and daily productivity. When we say our home matters, we mean it.

My next guest is one of my favorite humans on the planet. She also happens to be an incredible interior designer. Amy Hadley owns Hey Now Interiors, an award-winning Austin, TX based interior design studio that believes in the power of place. They create spaces that inspire more joy, creativity, and connectedness in your life. Their tagline? “We create vibrant spaces for awesome people.”

Join us as we talk about the impact of design, how to make simple changes to bring more inspiration in your space and the power of risk when it comes to bringing color in your home. We also talk about light switch candy—a simple trick that adds fun dimension to any room. This conversation was so fun for us. I hope it brings you inspiration and as always, I hope you learn a few things today, too.
