EP18 Heal Your Nervous System, Embody Your Purpose
My next guest is one of those people you want to sit with and talk to for hours. She’s smart, kind, funny, and really cool. I love being around people who show up for their life and use their gifts to change the world and Sarah’s doing exactly that.
I met Sarah decades ago in the early days of her life coaching journey. When I was a photographer, I took pictures of her sweet dog and she gave me an AWESOME pre-natal massage when I was pregnant with my daughter. I’ve since followed her journey from distance, but have always been a fan. If you’ve listened to this podcast or followed along on Instagram, you know I love therapy, life coaching and transformational work. About six months ago, I started noticing my mood, my energy level and my overall excitement about life. Do you ever do that? Do you ever stop and notice the feelings in your mind and body? I was stuck in a mental and emotional loop and couldn’t get out of it. I knew where I wanted to go with my work and personal projects, but couldn’t get my feet to move. I was caught in a loop, operating out of patterns I’d created long before I even knew what a pattern was. I knew I wanted help navigating my stuckness, but I also knew I didn’t want to sit in a therapist’s office and re-hash all my old trauma. I opened Instagram and one of her posts was the first one I saw, so I clicked on her profile, got to her website and quickly sent her an email. My life is different because of the work we did. I booked 8 sessions and have her on speed-dial for next time.
Sarah’s approach is one of the things that makes her work so impactful. She combines her life experiences and training as a certified Life Coach and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, to help people who feel overwhelmed with the demands of life move through their current stress and past trauma to create new patterns that help them reclaim their lives with joy and passion. She’s really good at harnessing information and using it to help her clients transform their lives. She’s a powerhouse and I’m so glad I got to have a conversation with her on the podcast. Join us as we talk about my experience working with her, how the brain and nervous system work and how they store trauma, why breath is so important, and how regulating our stress response can help us create new patterns that help us thrive in life. This episode is packed with goodness, so listen and enjoy.
